Ferrari F12 TRS revealed – but you can’t buy it

The Ferrari F12 TRS has been revealed as a one-off by Ferrari’s Style Centre for a Ferrari client, inspired by the 1957 250 Testa Rossa.

When your pockets are deep enough, the special operation divisions of the world’s luxury and supercar makers are your playground. And one Ferrari client has spent a repute £2.5 million to create a one-off F12 – the Ferrari F12 TRS – twice the price of LaFerrari.

Still obviously a Ferrari F12, the F12 TRS gets a pretty dramatic makeover, inspired by the 1967 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, from Ferrari Special Projects, design chief Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Style Centre.

It includes the F12’s roof being consigned to the dustbin to be replaced by darkened, wraparound glass for the sides and windscreen, a refined version of Ferrari’s T-shaped graphic at the back and an aero pack that goes from the front of the F12 TRS, down the sides and merges in to the Ferrari’s haunches.

Ferrari hasn’t chosen to share any interior photos of the TRS, but they do say it’s a very pared-down affair, with controls for the AirCon and others removed along with the central vents, glovebox, sound system and window controls.

Much of the trim is carbon fibre, the upholstery leather and Alcantara and the central tunnel gets the same paint treatment as the outside, inspired by the traditional Rosso Corsa but using multi-layer and micalised paint technologies.

despite rumours the F12 TRS would get a KERS hybrid system, it seems it keeps the F12’s standard 6.3 litre V12 with 730bhp and a 0-62mph of 3.1 seconds. Which is already too quick, or at least according one J. Clarkson Esq. it is.
