The oversized Fiat 500 that is the 500L gets a new limited edition – the Fiat 500L Beats Edition – and there’s two new 120hp engines for the 500L too.

MINI managed to make us believe that the MINI Countryman is a proper MINI only bigger, and Fiat are having a degree of success in convincing car buyers that the 500L is just a grown-up Fiat 500.
As well as the Dr Dre sound system the new 500L Beats gets a two-tone black and grey paint job with red and satin chrome flourishes, with a similar look on the inside too with a black theme and red stitching.
There are also a few changes across the 500L range for 2014 including Venezia Blue metallic paint, new fabric and leather for the interior with a range that include Pop, Pop Star, Loiunge, Beats and Business spec with new option packs like the ‘Pop Start Pack’, ‘Lounge Pack’ and ‘Trekkiing Pack’.
But it’s not just cosmetic updates on offer in the 500L for 2014, there’s an extra couple of engines too.
The two new engines are the 1.6 MultiJet II turbodiesel and 1.4 T-Jet petrol, both of which produce 120hp.
The 1.6 MultiJet II turbodiesel manages official economy of 61mpg, emissions of 120g/km and gets from 0-62mph in 10.7 seconds whilst the 1.4 petrol offers 41mpg, 159g/km and a 0-62mph of 10.2 seconds.
Fiat say the 2014 500L, including updates, new options, new engines and Beats edition, will be on sale across Europe (and, we assume, the UK) shortly.
