Ford Car Sales go online in the UK
Ford has launched online car sales in the UK, allowing you to buy and trade-in online, as well as a new digital FordStore in Manchester.
Lots of car makers are moving a chunk of their car sales online as the whole car buying landscape rapidly evolves, and now it’s Ford’s turn to take to your desktop, tablet and smartphone to get you to buy a car the ‘easy’ way. It’s not the first time Ford has had a bash at online sales (the previous attempts didn’t work) but their timing seems right this time, and although only on offer in the UK (you lucky people) it seems likely to be rolled out across Europe if all goes well.
Ford’s cars are available to buy (well, on PCP) from the www.buy.ford.co.uk site, where you can set your budget, your needs and mileage and get an instant quote for your new car. You’ll also be able to arrange a trade-in too and book a test drive if you want it, with your new car delivered to your door.
Linked to the launch of online sales is a new digital store at the Arndale Shopping Centre in Manchester where there’s a display of five Fords and interactive displays which mimic the online buying process. It’s run by Rockar, also responsible for Hyundai’s stores at Bluewater and Westfield and Jaguar Land Rover’s outing at Westfield too.
Kevin Griffin, Ford’s UK Sales Director, said:
We are changing the way consumers interact with our brand and responding to the way they want to purchase vehicles, particularly female buyers. With our new Online Sales service, the customer is in control every step of the way; they can buy in-store today or complete their purchase online at home. They can also visit the store to talk to experts for advice, hear about the latest technologies and experience them with a test-drive direct from the store.
Assuming the new digital FordStore grabs punters (and their business) in reasonable numbers, more are likely to pop up at a shopping centre near you soon.
