Hyundai i10 gets new range-topping Premium SE trim – price from £11,995

The new Hyundai i10 – Hyundai’s appealing little city car – now comes in a new trim level – Premium SE – adding more features and toys.

The Hyundai i10 is an appealing little city car, and the latest version – revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013 – is a more grown-up version than the last model, and a very sensible buy at prices from £8,595.

But the city car market is not just populated by owners who want the cheapest and most effective car for running around the urban landscape, but also by those who enjoy the compact dimensions but want a touch of luxury, and more toys, to make their journey more appealing.

So Hyundai has, very sensibly, added a new range-topping trim option for the i10 – Premium SE – which bundles up lots of the i10’s more desirable options and presents them in package for the buyer that wants lots of goodies off the shelf.

That means the i10 Premium SE gets, as standard, 15″ alloys, an electric glass sunroof that tilts and slides, parking sensors at the back (although, as the i10 stops where the back window sits, we’re not too sure how vital these are), Keyless, stop-start, Climate, heated front seats and steering wheel and some extra chrome.

In addition, Hyundai are fitting a spacesaver wheel to the SE and Premium SE and offering SE buyers the option of a connectivity pack with Bluetooth, voice recognition and steering wheel audi controls for an extra £175.

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai’s UK boss, said:

Since its launch a year ago, we’ve already sold over 25,000 units of New Generation i10 in the UK.

The introduction of Premium SE will look to build on this success by providing customers with competitive levels of technology, without the need to compromise on the small car package.

The new Hyundai i10 Premium SE is now on sale at Hyundai’s UK dealers from £11,995 for the manual version and £12,650 for the auto.
