Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition
The Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition is heading for the UK in limited numbers following its reveal at Comic-Con last year.
Last year, Hyundai went to Comic-Con in San Diego with a special edition Kona styled to look like the Iron Man suit, and promised to deliver it as a special edition for Iron Man fans looking for a new car. And it’s heading to the UK.To get the Kona to look like the Iron Man suit, Hyundai has given it a two-tone paint job in Iron Man Matte Grey and Red Armour, stuck a red bonnet bezel with Marvel logo on the bonnet and ‘Stark Industries’ on the sill plates and bonnet.
The Iron Man theme continues with iron-grip two-tone alloys, Iron Man emblems on the front wings and through the puddle lamps.
Inside doesn’t escape the same sort of makeover either, with red stitching for the leather and piping, STARK Industries logo and Iron Man images on the backrests, Iron Man Eyes coming at you when the Krell Sound System boots up, STARK Industries Arc Reactor graphics on the instruments and a ‘Tony Stark’ dashboard signature.
Standard – non-STARK – bits include LED lights, Keyless, 8″ infotainment, Climate and HUD, with safety stuff (you need safety stuff when you’re Iron Man?) including AEB, Blind Spot, Downhill Brake, Driver Attention, Lane Keep and Rear Cross Traffic alerts.
The two-tone paint job is the only option, as is the 1.6 T-GDi engine, FWD and 7-speed Dual-Clutch ‘box.
The Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition is available in the UK from 1 March 2019.
