Jaguar F-PACE goes up the Goodwood hillcilmb on TWO wheels
The Jaguar F-PACE has tackled the infamous Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb on two wheels in the hands of stunt driver Terry Grant.
When the Jaguar F-PACE – Jaguar’s first SUV/Crossover – launched last year, Jaguar were, as always with a launch, keen to catch the world’s attention. It wasn’t enough that Jaguar were encroaching in to Land Rover territory with a car that owes more to Land Rover’s USP than Jaguar’s, so they decided they needed a bit of a spectacle to get the world’s attention – the biggest loop the loop in the world.
Professional driver Terry Grant spent two months playing with the F-PACE to perfect the stunt, and the world record for the F-Pace for the loop the loop was in the bag, inflicting major g-force of 6.5g on driver and car in the process.
Now the Jaguar F-PACE that pulled off the Guinness World Record stunt is at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and once again in the hands of Terry Grant, this time tackling Goodwood’s infamous hillclimb, but doing it on just two wheels.
To add to the spectacle, stunt motorcyclist Lee Bowers has been roped in to climb out of the F-PACE as Grant drives it up the hillclimb, waving to the crowds before climbing back in before the finish line.
The stunt tells us little about Jaguar’s F-PACE, but it does get us talking about it.
Which, we guess, was the point.
