Jaguar F-PACE specced by Ian Callum
A unique Jaguar F-PACE specced by its designer, Ian Callum, has raised £102,500 for the motor industry charity BEN at their annual ball.
It’s always interesting to see what a car designer really thinks their creation should be before the bean counters arrive and consign much of his/her wish list to the options box.So the arrival of a Jaguar F-PACE – Jaguar’s new SUV/Crossover – with a specification put together by Ian Callum on an F-PACE donated to motor industry charity BEN is very interesting.
Jaguar have called this spec the ‘Designer Edition’ (which makes you wonder if it’s going to arrive as a production model) and it gets a Storm grey paint job, Jaguar’s Black Pack, Ebony Taurus leather with Light Oyster Stitching and 22″ Double Helix alloys.
Ian Callum’s ‘perfect’ F-PACE – a 3.0 V6 S – raised an impressive £102,500 at the BEN Ball. Callum said:
The F-PACE was a real pleasure to design, and the result is something we are incredibly proud of, but this ‘Designer Edition’ is in essence my ultimate F-PACE. You’ve got this wonderful positioning of the Storm Grey paint against the details of the Black Pack, complete with those wonderful 22-inch wheels that look like they’re taking the car forwards, even at a standstill.
It was also revealed that JLR’s UK MD, Jeremy Hicks, will be part of a JLR relay team swimming the Channel in August 2017 to raise money for BEN.
