The Jaguar F-Pace SVR has been revealed with a 542bhp Supercharged V8, 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and a purposeful look. On sale summer 2018 from £74,835.
It took Jaguar a long time to bow to the inevitable and deliver an SUV, but the F-Pace has proved a very successful model for Jaguar, transforming sales for the poor relation bit of JLR. And now it’s time the for Jaguar F-Pace SVR as a range-topping performance SUV.The F-Pace SVR comes with Jaguar’s familiar 5.0 litre supercharged V8, and here it deliver 542bhp and 501lb/ft of torque, enough to catapult the SUV to 62mph in 4.3 seconds and on to 176mph, figures which manage to pip the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance, although with 100bhp more than the Porsche you would expect that.
Jaguar has been sensibly conservative about the SVR’s looks, with the big air vents on the front and vents behind the front wheels doing their job without looking OTT, and the added bigger sills, wheel arch extensions, bumpers and bonnet vents looking appealing rather than brash.
Jaguar has saved a bit of weight by fitting 22″ lightweight forged alloys, the roll bars get a tweak, the springs are stiffer, there’s a variable Valve Active Exhaust for when you want to scare the dog, an electronic active diff, adaptive suspension and a selection of driving modes bespoke to SVR.
Inside there’s slimline performance front seats with quilted leather and SVR logos, Sports Shift Selector, SVR steering wheel, 4G WiFi, Touch Pro Infotainment with 10″ screen and a 12.3″ HD instrument cluster and a choice of four interior colour themes – Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.
The Jaguar F-Pace SVR officially goes on sale in the summer with prices starting from £74,835, around £5k more than the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance.
