The Jaguar XF R-Sport Black has been revealed as a run-out XF as Jaguar tweak their XF offerings ahead of a new XF arriving later in 2015.

It’s a sure sign that a car model is on its way out when specifications are improved, the range is rationalised and we get a new ‘extra value’ model. Jaguar are doing all three to the XF as we head to the reveal of a new XF later in 2015.
The XF R-Sport Black is available as a saloon or Sportbrake but can only be had with the 2.2 litre diesel.
Away from the headline run-out R-Sport Black, the XF gets a rationalised range with the SE, SE Business and Premium Luxury trim levels all dropped, and the V6 petrol and 237bhp version of the 3.0 litre discontinued too.
Jaguar has also upped specs across the range, with all trim levels now getting Winter Comfort and Parking Packs and the more expensive Portfolio, Diesel S Portfolio, XFR and XFR-S also getting Blind Spot Monitor, with changes like upgraded alloys, better sound systems and higher quality trim across the range.
Jaguar has also played with prices, upping the regular R-Sport by £800 (but claiming an extra £2,460 of added equipment) and dropping the price of the XF Portfolio models by £3,500.
Even the V8 XFR and XFR-S (now the only petrol XF option) come in for a tweak on spec, with the XFR getting an extra £3,760 of extra equipment without a price change and the XFR-S an extra £860 worth.
The Jaguar XF may be coming to the end of its shelf life, but it’s still a very good car and a joy to drive (the real-world pick is probably the 3.0 litre XF Diesel S Portfolio), so the run-out offers are worth a serious look.
