Jaguar Heritage always produces a strong turnout for the Mille Miglia, and this year they’ve documented the 1,000 mile adventure on video.
The Mille Miglia is a stunning showcase of cars from a bygone age, with sixty year old cars running for 1,000 miles through some of Italy’s most beautiful scenery over a four day event from Brescia to Rome and back again.Jaguar Heritage gave a strong showing this year, with nine cars – including C-Types, D-Types and XKs – and plenty of familiar faces – James Martin, Jodie Kidd, Ian Callum, Derek Bell et al – drinking in the joy of the cars, the stunning scenery and the adventure.
But the Mille Miglia isn’t just an adventure for Jaguar, it’s a marketing opportunity; a chance to show that Jaguar has a rich and vibrant history that gives their modern cars their soul (or so goes the theory).
So Jaguar has documented their 2015 Mille Miglia adventure on video (below) to give you a taste of the thrills of the event, featuring all the cars and all the stars lucky enough to take part.
James Martin, who drove with Charley Boorman, summed it up:
You feel elated at the end. It’s just the most amazing feeling. I’ve been through the turmoil and the heartache of not finishing the Mille Miglia so to be able to cross that line…I’m a tough Yorkshire farmer, but I had tears in my eyes!
It’s an emotional and evocative event, and Jaguar capture much of the spirit and joy of the Mille Miglia in the video. It’s worth the watch.
