The Kia Rio Pulse is a limited edition version of Kia’s new supermini, with a black or white paint job, red highlights and sporty trim. Costs from £14,595.
It’s only five minutes since the new Kia Rio arrived in the UK (well, January 2017), but we’re already getting the first limited edition model to tempt buyers in to Kia’s showrooms – the Kia Rio Pulse. As Kia’s answer to the Ford Fiesta, the Kia has plenty going for it, with five doors as standard, more room, improved economy and new engines and, of course, improved connectivity.
Prices start from £11,995 and go up to £17,445, so this Rio Pulse sits bang in the middle of the new Kia range at £14,595, with Kia saying its spec sits between Grade 2 and Grade 3 trim.
The titivations to create the Pulse include either Clear White or Midnight Black paint (normally a cost option on the Rio), a red roof, front vents, mirrors and side skirt trims, with black and red pretend leather on the inside and metallic red fascia.
Also in the mix is a set of 17″ alloys, a black grille with chrome surround, a 5″ touchscreen with DAB, Bluetooth, music streaming, reversing camera and parking sensors.
Power comes from Kia’s 1.25 litre with 83bhp and a five-speed manual gearbox, stop-start and official economy of 58.8mpg.
As well as Kia’s terrific warranty, you’ll also get a year’s free insurance if you buy before 30 September.
