The Lagonda All-Terrain Concept is teased ahead of a debit at the Geneva Motor Show as Aston Martin moves on with plans for the electric Lagonda brand.
Aston Martin has thrown the odd Lagonda model in to the mix in the last few decades, but since the 1970s wedge-shaped Aston Martin Lagonda there hasn’t really been a ‘proper’ Lagonda, just titivated Astons.
But that’s about to change as AML move towards the launch of Lagonda as an ultra-luxury electric brand to rival Rolls-Royce.
Last year we saw the Lagonda Vision Concept, but things will move on at the Geneva Motor Show next month as Aston Martin present the Lagonda All-Terrain Concept, an electric SUV expected to turn in to a production model in 2021.
Teased with a single image (above), the Lagonda All-Terrain will be the first new production EV from Lagonda, and although AML aren’t offering any details of its powertrain it will clearly be an EV.
When the Vision Concept was revealed, AML said it would feature Solid State batteries and offer a 400 mile range, with a full re-charge taking just minutes.
What a production model as early as 2021 will have is open to debate (we can’t see AML being able to deliver Solid State batteries in two years time), but it will need to offer at least a 100kWh battery pack and a range of over 300 miles to be credible.
Doubtless, as the Geneva Motor Show nears, we’ll learn more.
