Land Rover goes BIG to celebrate its 70th at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Land Rover are pulling out all the stops for the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed – and their 70th anniversary – with their biggest Goodwood line-up to date.
Land Rover always has interesting stuff to keep you entertained at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but as this is Land Rover’s 70th anniversary year there’s even more to entertain than usual. The highlight of Land Rover’s FoS outing this year will probably be a selection of 70 Land Rover spanning the 70 years of Land Rover’s existence all parading at once.
Leading the pack will be ‘Huey’ – the first pre-production Land Rover – followed by Series 1s, IIs, IIIs and Defenders, four generations of Range Rover, five generations of Discovery, Freelanders, Range Rover Sports, Discovery Sports, Evoques and Velars.
Also in the mix will be a selection of military and rescue Land Rovers, as well as Expedition vehicles all with a real story to tell.
Tackling the hillcimb twice a day will be the Land Rover Defender Works V8, Terry Grant will be out in the Range Rover Sport SVR trying to break the fastest mile on two wheels record too, and Land Rover’s piece of turf in the exhibition area, which sits next to Jaguar’s, and will have all the latest models on display including the Range Rover SV Coupe.
If you’d prefer to play as well as look you can go out on Land Rover’s mad obstacle course, and kiddies can play too with mini electric Defenders and there’s even a Top Trumps App for FoS visitors (Android and IOS) with prizes on offer.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off a week today (12 July 2018).
