Mazda CX-3 updated for 2017
The Mazda CX-3 – Mazda’s urban SUV with Mazda 2 underpinnings – comes in for an update for 2017 and there’s a new CX-3 GT Sport model on offer too.
It’s two years since the new Mazda CX-3 arrived on sale in the UK, and Mazda has decided it’s time for a couple of updates and a new model – the Mazda CX-3 GT Sport. An appealing compact SUV – whose sales don’t reflect its appeal – the CX-3 is a good looking, well equipped, well made and appealing urban warrior, and Mazda’s 2017 updates add to that appeal.
Right across the range, the CX-3 now gets Mazda’s G-Vectoring control (varies engine torque to optimise loading on the wheels), some improvements to the suspension and additional insulation to make the cabin more hushed, with petrol-engined models also get new engine mounts to reduce vibration in the cabin.
For posher models (from SE-L Nav on), Mazda’s City Brake gets upgraded to include pedestrian detection, and the whole range also comes with heated electric mirrors, Sport Nav models get colour heads-up and heated steering wheel and you get electric seats and memory on the half leather seat option.
Added to the top of the revised CX-3 range is the CX-3 GT Sport – based on the Sport Nav trim – which comes with 118bhp 2.0 litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine, new aero kit, new inserts on the sills and front and back, Nappa leather and 18″ alloys.
The updated Mazda CX-3 range is no on sale at Mazda’s UK dealers, starting at £18,495 for the CX-3 2.1 120PS 2WD rising to £25,195 for the 1.5 105PS 4WD auto. The Limited Edition (500 units) CX-3 GT Sport costs from £22,895.
