We’re hosting the Mazda press conference LIVE from New York, where Mazda will unveil its SKYACTIV technology and the Mazda CX-5 in the guise of the Minagi Concept
We haven’t done a Mazda Motor Show press conference live feed before, so when Mazda called us and asked us if we’d like to – and mentioned what they were planning – we decided you’d probably find it interesting.
We’ve had bits and bobs of information on Mazda’s SKYACTIV Technology, but tomorrow at the New York show we’ll see much more detail.
Mazda SKYACTIV is about making traditional ICE technology work more efficiently and with fewer emissions. Which is a very good way to go.
The obsession with a pointless electric future – only viable in small, local areas – and hybrid drivetrains – which are complicated and expensive – is explained by the targets governments have set for CO2 emissions and economy. But SKYACTIV is very possibly a better way to go.
Also on offer in New York is the Mazda Minagi Concept, which previews the new Mazda CX-5, a compact SUV aimed at the Tiguan/Kuga market.
