McLaren BP23 Hyper GT tries its F1 3-Seat layout on a 720S Mule
The McLaren BP23 continues to be teased as McLaren reveal a photo of a 720S mule fitted with a three-seat layout inspired by the McLaren F1.
At the end of last year, McLaren revealed plans to build a three-seat Hyper GT car to be built in very limited numbers – thought to be 106 – and cost a chunk more than the McLaren P1.By March of this year we got a design sketch of the BP23 to tickle our fancy – even though it seems McLaren have already sold all the cars planned – and now we get another little snippet in the form of a tease of the three-seat layout.
Using the McLaren 720S as a mule, McLaren has fitted the same seat layout as the McLaren F1, with the driver sat front and centre with room for a pair of passengers, one each side, set back from the driver’s position.
McLaren say the BP23 will be the fastest McLaren ever, which considering its competing against the F1 and P1 for that accolade really does mean quick.
Although McLaren isn’t saying, expect the BP23 badge to disappear for the production car, and for the hybrid powertrain to deliver something around 1100bhp from its V8 turbo petrol and electric motor combination.
And a price tag twice that of the McLaren P1.
