Mercedes A-Class facelift will debut at Goodwood
The Mercedes A-Class is getting a facelift, and Mercedes will give it its world debut at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed next weekend.
Believe it or not, it’s three years since the new Mercedes-A-Class debuted at Geneva in 2012, which means it’s due for a mid-life refresh. And that facelift for Mercedes’ smallest car is happening next weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We’re not expecting anything too dramatic from the refreshed A-Class beyond the usual facelift fodder – new light, new bumpers and tweaked nose for the exterior – and it seems unlikely we’ll see any new engines on offer either, just slight tweaks of the existing range.
The interior will probably get more of a makeover, inspired by the latest C-Class and B-Class, and there will doubtless be more technology to play with too.
But whatever Mercedes has done to the new A-Class, it will be on show at Goodwood next weekend, with the new A45 AMG taking on the Goodwood hillclimb alongside the AMG GT S and AMG C 63 S.
Mercedes are also taking nine of the surviving W 196 Silver Arrow cars to Goodwood, to mark 60 years since they last competed, with six of them taking on the hillcimb, with their modern counterpart – the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS F1 W04 V8 F1 car – also at Goodwood and being driven by Nico Rosberg on the Sunday.
The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 25 to 28 June.
