Mercedes teases new electric EQ concept for Frankfurt
Mercedes is teasing a new EQ electric concept for the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it looks like it could be a first look at a range-topping EQS.
There will be no shortage of car makers teasing new arrivals for the Frankfurt Motor Show in the coming days, and Mercedes is playing the game with a new tease published on their Facebook page.Mercedes may not be giving a huge amount away with the Facebook tease (above), but they do say it is “…the next chapter of our all-electric vision“, so we can be pretty sure it’s not a V8 AMG model under the Mercedes cover.
With the Mercedes EQC already on sale and in production, it looks like Mercedes is planning the next stage of its BEV assault with an EQS Concept.
If this is a first look at the EQS, then we’re looking at a car which Mercedes will be pitching against the Tesla Model S, upcoming electric Jaguar XJ – and even the Porsche Taycan – with a level of luxury and performance commensurate with the ‘S Class’.
But although it will offer a cabin as big as an S-Class it’s expected the packaging opportunities EVs offer will mean a car more like the CLS in size, with a shorter bonnet and built on Mercedes new Modular Electric Architecture (MEA) platform.
All will be revealed shortly.

MARK ALLEN GELLER says
Taycan not a compete for this. it’s for 911 peeps who want an electric 911 with a small back seat and are OK with a 150K price tag for that.
