The new MINI 25th Anniversary Convertible site in front of the original 1993 Mini Cabriolet
The MINI 25th Anniversary Convertible arrives as a special edition MINI convertible to celebrate 25 years since the first Mini Cabriolet arrived. Just 300 units priced at £32,995.
The once weekly arrival of a new MINI special Edition model has slowed to a bit of a trickle since the latest MINI arrived, but the 25th anniversary of the first drop-top Mini has spurred MINI on to deliver a celebration model – the MINI 25th Anniversary Convertible. The first production Mini Cabriolet arrived in 1993 in the days of the original Mini ‘Classic’ shape and was available in Caribbean Blue or Nightfire Red and came with 12″ wheels, walnut dashboard, colour-coded seat belts and a couple of RSJs to stop the front parting company with the back. It also cost about twice as much as the Mini Cooper 1.3i on which it was based.
Just over a decade later in 2004, BMW decided the world needed another MINI Convertible and introduced a choice of MINI One, MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S Convertibles, since when MINI has sold almost 90,000 in the UK.
This new MINI 25th Anniversary Convertible, based on the MINI Cooper S Convertible specification and with a Starlight Blue paint job and Satellite Grey leather interior, white mirrors caps and bonnet stripes, Union Jacks woven in the fabric roof, two-tone MINI Yours Vanity Spoke alloys, Chilli Pack, Navigation Pack and Harmon Kardon sound, is a celebration of the convertible MINI’s history.
There are just 300 MINI 25th Anniversary Convertible models on offer, each costing from £32,995.
