Mitsubishi joins the Emissions Scrappage Circus with £6,500 off an Outlander PHEV
Mitsubishi has joined in the emissions Scrappage game, offering a discount of up to £4,000 off an Outlander PHEV when scrapping an old car.
Just about every mainstream car maker has joined in the Emissions Scrappage game – which seems more about boosting sales than any real real desire to scrap old cars – and now Mitsubishi arrive to play, a bit late to the party with their offerings. The headline is “Up to £6,500 off a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV”, but that’s a bit misleading.
What you actually get – if you trade in a Euro 4 emissions car or older (basically pre-2010) – is a discount of £4,000 if you buy an Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid. The other £2,500 you get anyway as it’s the taxpayer bribe for buying a low emissions car.
But it’s not just the Outlander PHEV with a scrappage discount, but the Outlander diesel is available with £3,500 off, the Mirage with £2,000 off and the ASX with £3,000 too.
Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi UK’s MD, said:
As we have demonstrated with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, we are committed to helping drivers enjoy more environmentally-friendly motoring without asking them to compromise day-to-day practicality and we’re delighted to offer a scrappage initiative that provides an enhanced opportunity for even more customers to enjoy the benefits of a newer, safer, cleaner vehicle.
Just like most of these schemes, the Mitsubishi offer is short-lived, so if you want to take advantage of it you’ll need to make the decision by 28 December 2017.
