Audi tease the new Q2 compact SUV in a hazy video
The new Audi Q2 – a new small SUV/Crossover from Audi – is teased again ahead of it debut at Geneva 2016, on video and called the Q2.
A couple of weeks ago, the Audi Q2 started its tease ahead of its Geneva debut, but Audi chose to show just an empty space in its line-up as the tease, and didn’t refer to the new SUV/Crossover as the Q2.But now we get another teaser from Audi, this time a video, which does manage to show the Q2 – hazily – and finally refers to it as the Q2. So now we know for sure.
The short video of the Q2 shows it driving along a dirt track towards the camera, getting more hazy as it nears, presumably to demonstrate the Q2 has some off-road credentials. Not that buyers of this sort of premium compact SUV care much about off-road prowess.
The tease may not really show what the Q2 looks like, but you can be pretty sure it will look a lot like a new Q7 on a boil wash.
Under the skin we’re likely to see a plethora of options for engines and drivetrains – depending on how much you want to spend – from frugal 3-cylinders with manual gearboxes and front-wheel drive through to more powerful four-cylinder petrols and diesels with a seven-speed DSG gearbox and quattro four-wheel drive.
No doubt we’ll see more of the Audi Q2 between now and its debut at Geneva on 1 March.
