New BMW X3 will be REVEALED on 26 June in the USA
The new BMW X3 – the third generation of BMW’s successful SUV – will be revealed on 26 June 2017 at BMW’s Spartanburg Plant in the USA.
It’s seven years since the current BMW X3 was revealed, so it’s high time BMW delivered a new model. And now we know the new BMW X3 will debut at BMW’s Spartanburg next Monday, 26 June 2017.Probably also heading for its proper public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the new X3 promises to be lighter, bigger, better equipped and even more appealing than the current model.
Built on BMW’s new GO1 Platform – which also underpins the latest BMW 5 Series – the new X3 will be up to 100kg lighter, despite growing a bit in size, and the new platform promises to offer better dynamics for the soft-roader too.
Despite being an all-new model, the X3 looks to have joined the Porsche school of car design, with evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, styling.
Engine options look set to include the big-selling 2.0 litre diesel for the X3 20d, six-cylinder diesel for the X3 30d and 35d.
Petrol options should include an M40i, and maybe even a proper ‘M’ X3 using the 3.0 litre twin-turbo from the M3, and it looks like BMW are planning to transplant the hybrid powertrain from the 330e in to the new X3 too.
Full details on the new BMW X3 next week once the covers are off.
