With the new BMW X6 now revealed, BMW are ramming home the new X6 as a lifestyle statement in a new launch film for the X5’s coupe sibling.

The new BMW X6 – a lifestyle statement

Not even BMW expected the X6 to be a runaway success, but marketed as a lifestyle version of the more practical X5, the X6 has sold in almost unbelievable numbers.
That also means the launch film for the new X6 concentrates more on what the X6 offers as a lifestyle accessory and less on its power or practicality. Which, as it’s worked so far, is no doubt the right way to go.
So we get a launch film that features beautiful people and beautiful locations which, unfortunately, does more to accentuate the X6’s lack of visual appeal than anything else.
But if you must have a big coupe SUV to make your life complete, then the new X6 does look a little better than it did, has plenty of on-road ability (even if its ability to do anything more butch than a muddy car park is questionable), is well-equipped and very pleasant to drive.
The added bonus is that you don’t have to look at it when you’re in it.
