The new Ford Focus RS was finally revealed last month – and debuted at Geneva 2015 – and now we have a promo video for the RS, out playing on mountain roads.

New Ford Focus plays on mountain roads

We’ve been without a Ford Focus RS in the current Focus range, but Ford changed that with the long overdue arrival of a new Focus RS last month, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show last week. And now the promotion starts.
But despite the promos starting, there are still things we don’t know about the new RS.
We don’t know how much it’s going to cost (although a starting point around £30k seems about right), and we don’t actually know how much power it has.
Ford are saying it will have ‘more than 316bhp’, but is that a bit more, or a lot more? At 316bhp it has the better of the new Honda Civic Type R and VW Golf R, but it’s going to be a chunk shy of the Golf R 400 when that goes in to production (although the VW will be a chunk pricier). Best guess is somewhere around 345bhp – the same as the old Focus RS 500 run-out model.
But what we do know is very appealing.
Apart from decent power – whatever that is – from the Mustang-sourced 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine, the Focus RS gets 4WD, four driving modes including ‘Drift’, Dynamic Torque Vectoring, RS updates to the body and interior and stiffer, sportier suspension.
Ford will have to confirm the power output for the production car before too long, but for now you’ll have to guess just how powerful the new Focus RS playing on the mountain roads is.
