New Hyundai i10 will cost from £8,345 – the same as the old i10

The new Hyundai i10 was revealed officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a bigger, better version of Hyundai’s Supermini. Will cost from £8345.

The 2014 Hyundai i10 – the new generation of Hyundai’s supermini – arrived officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month, and manages to offer a lot more than the old i10.

Despite growing in size, getting better looking and offering more, not just in terms of size, than the current/last i10, Hyundai are starting pricing for the new i10 at the same level as the old model – £8,345.

The new i10 will come with a choice of two petrol engines – the 1.0 litre 3-cylinder with 65bhp and 0-62mph in 14.9 seconds and the 1.2 litre with 86bhp and a 0-62mph of 12.3 seconds – as well as a choice of three trim levels – S, SE and Premium.

The entry-level S trim offers a pretty basic spec – and only with the 1.0 litre 3-pot – with cloth trim (black with beige inserts), 14″ steel wheels, central locking, electric front windows, CD, USB and running lights. Also available as the S Air with air conditioning for £8,990.

The mid-range SE offers more home comforts – and cosmetic improvements – with remote central locking, electric windows all round, body colour door handles and mirrors, electric heated mirrors, driver’s seat height adjustment and can be had with either engine and as a Blue Drive model. Prices start at £9,295 for the i10 SE 1.0 Manual 66PS.

Move up to the range topping Premium trim on the new i10 – £9,995 for the Premium 1.0 Manual 66PS and £10,495 for the Premium 1.2 Manual 87PS – and you will also get 14″ alloys, Bluetooth with voice, LED running lights, front fogs, extra speakers, door mirror indicators, leather steering wheel, bits of chrome and the option of faux-leather on parts of the seats.

The new Hyundai i10 is available in the UK from 30th January 2014.
