New Jaguar Land Rover Classic Drive puts you in the Range Rover Classic, Jaguar E-Type and more
Jaguar Land Rover launches a new Classic Drive event at Eastnor, letting you drive cars like the Land Rover Series I and Jaguar XK150 on and off road.
Jaguar Land Rover are now able to celebrate the iconic history of their brands without fear they’ll be accused of living in the past as their current cars stand properly on their own merits once more. That includes not just stuff like the re-creation of classic models, big support for Classic Car owners and Heritage racing, but the opportunity to drive some of the Classic Land Rover and Jaguar models at special events.
The latest Classic Drive Experience from JLR allows the public to go out and play at Eastnor castle, both on and off road, in a selection of classic models from JLR’s history, on the same terrain JLR used to hone their cars.
You’ll be able to tackle Eastnor’s intimidating slopes and thick mud in an original Series I Land Rover, as well as in the Range Rover Classic (JLR’s moniker for the original Range Rover), the car which launched the Range Rover brand and, effectively, the luxury SUV.
Once you’ve finished getting covered in mud, you can then get behind the wheel of a Jaguar XK150 – the last of the XK line – as well as playing with its successors – the original Jaguar E-Type Series I and a 1970s Series III E-Type. You also get a drive in a Jaguar MK2 to prove Jaguar didn’t do just sports cars.
Tim Hannig, JLR’s Classic Director, said:
Jaguar and Land Rover have created some of the most beautiful and iconic British cars ever. While their DNA lives on in our modern line-up, we want people to experience where the story developed.
Equally, the Eastnor estate has played a huge part in shaping our business, so to be able to bring a selection of our legends together in such a significant location is a real privilege.
The Jaguar Land Rover Classic Drive Experience at Eastnor costs £495 per driver, and you can book a day out by calling 0333 733 3003 (or click the link).
