New Kia Proceed tease
The new Kia Proceed – a Shooting Brake take on the new Ceed – is previewed in a tease photo ahead of a reveal on 13 September.
The new Kia Ceed (that’s the one without the apostrophe) only went on sale in the UK at the beginning of the month, but Kia are ready to extend the new Ceed offerings with this, the new Kia Proceed, which will be revealed on 13 September ahead of a public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.Effectively taking the very good looking Shooting Brake Proceed Concept we saw at Frankfurt last year – but doubtless toned down in execution for production – the new Proceed is a five-door Shooting Brake designed to add a bit of extra style to the Ceed range.
Appealing though it would be to see the Proceed Shooting Brake offered with something like the N Performance power sister company Hyundai will deliver in the i30 Fastback N, it seems likely the best we can hope for from the new Proceed is a GT version with something approaching 200bhp as a range-topper.
The rest of the Proceed offerings will probably follow those of the new Ceed Hatch in terms of trim and engines, which means a 1.0 litre T-GDi, 1.4 litre T-GDi and 1.6 CRDi, with manual and DCT ‘box options and Kia’s a handful of trim levels.
Kia say of the new Proceed:
The ProCeed follows the design blueprint laid down by the 2017 Kia Proceed Concept, and will offer drivers an unparalleled combination of design and versatility. Designed, developed and engineered exclusively for Europe, it represents a unique proposition in the mid-size family car segment.
All will be revealed in a couple of weeks.
