2016 Mercedes E 220 d Estate costs from £37,935
The new 2016 Mercedes E-Class Estate goes on sale in the UK, but Mercedes has only revealed prices and specs for the E220d – from £37,935.
Last month, the 2016 Mercedes E-Class Estate was revealed as a more stylish E-Class Estate with a back end that looks like an up-sized C-Class Estate – and better-looking for it – and a front end that’s no different to the E-Class Saloon. But the better looks for the E-Class estate don’t translate in to more models, and Mercedes seemed to be planning to offer just three versions of the estate in the UK – the E 220d, E 350 d and AMG E 43.
But it seems their abacus has only managed to work out prices for the E 220 d so far, and Mercedes won’t be revealing prices for the E 350 d and AMG E 43 until October when they go on sale.
You’ll be delighted to know there will also be an E 200 d on offer too as an entry-level model. But we don’t have prices for that either.
So if you want to splash out on a new E-Class Estate right now, it’s Hobson’s choice with just the E 220 d starting at £37,395 for the SE rising to £40,430 for the AMG Line.
The SE comes with Garmin Nav Pilot (no, it’s not proper Comand Sat Nav), Agility Control for the suspension, powered tailgate, Parking Pilot with reversing camera, roof rails, changeable LED interior lighting, Keyless, heated front seats, DAB and 17″ alloys.
Opt for the AMG Line instead and you get 19″ Titanium Grey alloys, pretend leather on the dash, black ash trim, AMG sports pedals and three-spoke Nappa leather steering wheel.
The specs aren’t overwhelmingly generous, but Mercedes are happy to indulge your whims with a range of extras including Premium and Premium Plus packages (£2,795 and £3,895) offering Keyless-Go Comfort Package, Memory Package and Panoramic Roof (and a Burmester Sound System on the Plus package).
There’s also Lane Tracking (£595), Drivers Assistance (£1,695), Comand Online (£1,495), 12.3″ Virtual Cockpit (£495) and more besides.
The 2016 Mercedes E 220 d Estate is now on sale at Mercedes’ UK dealers, but if you wait until October you’ll have more models to choose from.
