The new Range Rover Sport has hit the auction block at a BCA sale for the first time this week, with high hammer prices over CAP values.

The New Range Rover Sport crosses the auction block for the first time
Where do Land Rover dealers get their best used cars from? A closed Land Rover sale run by BCA for dealers where there’s the pick of used Land Rover and Range Rover models to choose from, that’s where.
More than 70 franchised and approved Land Rover dealers were present to snap up Land Rovers for their forecourt and had the choice of a dozen new Sports, as well as a range of other Land Rover cars.
Prices were strong and the 2013 Sports averaged 116 per cent of CAP’s clean value, with a range-topping Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic V8 5.0 litre in Chile Red (a nice change from the seemingly ubiquitous Corris Grey launch cars proliferating used dealer forecourts) fetching £82,700.
But it wasn’t just the new Range Rover Sport that sold well at BCA, they managed to sell every one of the 70 Land Rovers on offer, achieving 101.4 per cent of CAP values in the process.
Lynn Brown, Land Rover’s Used Sales Manager, said:
This was a very well-supported sale that offered the first opportunity to buy All-New Range Rover Sport at auction.
We were delighted to see so many representatives of our dealer network attending this event and bidding so strongly and confidently. The presentation by BCA was first class and the All-New Range Rover Sport made a notable debut, exceeding our own high expectations.
All of which is great news for those who jumped in to a new Range Rover Sport early on – there’s a very good chance their ownership experience will have cost them precious little in depreciation so far.
