We’re back to the push for punters in showrooms quest of car makers at the end of the year, with a new ‘special’ from Skoda – the Skoda Citigo Black Edition – costing from £9,990 for the three-door and £10,340 for the five-door.As is the norm for special edition models designed to get punters to part with their cash with the promise of big specs for a bargain price, the Citigo Black comes with a variety of cosmetic changes and some extra equipment.
The extras include a choice of Deep Black or Candy White paint – with body colour mirrors – a set of 15″ black alloys and privacy glass for the back windows (Skoda like to call it ‘Sunset Glass’).
Extra goodies include Skoda’s Portable Infotainment Device (PID) – which offers Sat Nav, Bluetooth and multimedia player – Air Con, electric front windows and the Citigo entertainment pack (basically a couple of extra speakers and a multimedia holder).
Power comes from Skoda’s 1.0 litre MPS with 59bhp, which delivers official economy of 62.8mpg.
Sitting between the SE and Monte Carlo specs, the Citigo Black Edition is now available to order from Skoda’s UK dealers.
