New Vauxhall Crossland X SUV peeps out
The new Vauxhall Crossland X SUV is due to be revealed this week, ahead of which Vauxhall release a single teaser image of their new SUV.
Just like every other car maker, Vauxhall (and Opel – it’s the same) are on a bit of a mission to deliver as many SUVs / Crossovers as they can.The Mokka has already become the Mokka X (‘X’ means SUV, don’t you know) and next up we’re getting the catchily named Vauxhall Crossland X (followed by the Vauxhall Grandland X – we kid you not) which looks set to be a butch replacement for the Meriva and was first teased back on November.
Ahead of an official reveal later this week, Vauxhall (actually, it’s Opel) has released the teaser photo of the new Crossland with the garage doors open wide enough to get a look at the front three quarters.
From what we can see, Vauxhall/Opel appear to be going down the Russian Doll route with the Crossland, as the front end we see look to us remarkably like the Mokka X, so don’t be shocked if the rest of the Crossland X bears a strong resemblance to the Mokka X too.
You can expect both FWD and 4WD versions of the Crossland X as well as engines much the same as those offered by the Mokka X, but its platform is taken from PSA and will be shared with the C3 Picasso and Peugeot 2008, with all three cars expected to be built at GM’s plant in Zaragoza, Spain.
We should get a reveal of the Vauxhall Crossland X on Wednesday, with a public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
