Porsche 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS REVEALED with 361bhp
Porsche has revealed GTS versions of the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster complete with 361bhp from their 2.5 litre four cylinder turbo. Costs from £59,866.
It’s probably time Porsche dropped the pretence that the Cayman and Boxster are completely different cars and started calling them just the Porsche 718 – one with a roof, one without. But for now they’re still called the Porsche 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster, so instead of one new GTS model we’re getting two – the 718 Cayman GTS and 718 Boxster GTS.
Both 718 GTS models come with Porsche’s turbo four-cylinder flat boxer engine, but here it gets boosted to deliver 361bhp and comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, although you can option a PDK ‘box if you wish (and most probably will).
Extra GTS goodies include the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical limited slip diff and Porsche Active Suspension Management.
Performance from the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman is the same, with both hitting 62mph in 4.1 seconds (assuming you have stumped up for the PDK ‘box and use launch control) on the way to 180mph, and official economy is 34.4mpg.
Cosmetic tweaks for the GTS include a revised front bumper with tinted lights at the front, a black rear apron and tail pipes, black GTS logos and 20″ satin black alloys.
Inside there’s an integrated stopwatch from the Sport Chrono Pack, Alcantara centres on the sports seats and on stuff like the steering wheel and centre console, and there’s the Porsche Track Precision App which can log driving data too.
The 718 GTS models are now on sale at Porsche’s UK dealers, with the 718 Cayman GTS costing from £59,866 and the 718 Boxster GTS from £61,727.
