Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition UPDATED

Ahead of a Panamera facelift next year, Porsche are aiming to keep sales bubbling along with a limited edition Panamera – the Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition.

The Paris Motor Show saw Porsche arrive with the very appealing Panamera Sport Turismo, a sort of shooting brake come estate Panamera, which looked great and looks likely to go in to production some time after Porsche facelift the Panamera.

And with that facelift for the Panamera likely to arrive in 2013, Porsche are aiming to keep up interest in the now three year old Panamera with a new limited edition Panamera – the Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition.

The Platinum Edition Panamera comes with a platinum silver metallic finish on the air intake grills, bottom of the door mirrors, boot trim and rear diffuser and on the side vents on the front wing – just like the  Panamera Turbo – which have been added to the Platinum Edition.

Colours on offer in the Platinum Edition are black, white, metallic basalt black, metallic mahogany lacquer and metallic carbon grey with the interior in Black/Luxo Beige with part leather (full leather is an option) and extra toys like front seat heating, PCM with Nav and Power Steering Plus are standard.

The Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition goes on sale in Germany next month from €79,707 as Panamera, Panamera 4 or Panamera Diesel. We’ve asked Porsche UK if the Platinum Edition is heading for the UK and when we get an answer we’ll update.

Update: Porsche UK has confirmed the UK will get the Panamera Platinum Edition.

The Panamera Platinum will cost £61,810, the Panamera 4 Platinum £66,990 and the diesel Platinum £63,510. It’s a modest premium over the regular UK Panamera as a chunk of the equipment on the Platinum Edition is already standard on the UK Panamera.
