This is the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept – a Porsche Panamara Shooting Brake Hybrid – headed for a Paris 2012 debut.
The Panamera Sport looks like it’s got some sort of hybrid powertrain, although we have no details yet from Porsche. Apart from the powertrain – which could be either the V6 petrol or even V6 diesel combined with an electric motor on the back axle – the Panamera Sport looks like a Panamera Estate.
Assuming the Panamera Turismo is heading for production – which seems almost certain – it is likely to get everything from the base V6 diesel and petrol, V8 and V8 turbo, 4WD and the hybrid setup seen here.
What does seem clear is that the sleeker, less bloated look of the Panamera Sport Turismo previews the next generation Panamera, which is when we expect this concept to become a production model.
Porsche anoraks will be up in arms once again, but the world has fallen in love with the four door shooting brake (which, traditionally, would be a two door) and Porsche are looking for a piece of the market.
