The Porsche Panamera V6 will debut in April at the Beijing Motor Show
Porsche has revealed the V6 Panamera which will launch in Beijing in April and go on sale in Europe in May. Priced from £61k.
A year on from the launch of the Porsche Panamera in China last year, Porsche has revealed that the Porsche Panamera V6 will join the Panamera lineup and – in yet another sign of the importance of the Chinese market – will be revealed at the Beijing Motor Show in April.
The Panamera V6 comes with either rear wheel drive – the Porsche Panamera – or 4WD – the Porsche Panamera 4 – and gets a new 3.6 litre V6 petrol lump producing 300bhp and 295lb/ft of torque. Fitted with Porsche’s PDK ‘box both models get stop/start to trim emissions and improve economy. The Panamera manages 30/4mpg and the Panamera 4 29.4mph and you can even opt for 19″ wheels with low rolling resistance tyres to get an extra mile or two out of each tank. CO2 emissions are 213g/km for the Panamera and 220g/km for the Panamera 4.
The new V6 is a big chunk lighter than the V8 – 66lbs – which helps not just the economy of the Panamera but should make it at least row along in an acceptable manner. However, Porsche hasn’t bseem fit to supploy us with performance figures so perhaps the performance is a bit tame. We’ll know soon enough.
Launching at Beijing in April the V6 Panamera will be in showrooms in Europe in May and in the US in June. Prices start at just over £61k for the Panmera rising to £67k for the Panamera 4.
