Aston Martin has revealed a new customisation programme for their cars – Q by Aston Martin – which debuts at Geneva.
Q by Aston Martin is AML’s latest ploy to garner more revenue from their cars, and is said to bring together Aston Martin designers, engineers and craftsmen (and women, no doubt) to offer buyers of Aston Martins the ultimate choice in personalisation and customisation.
The photos of some of the possibilities Aston Martin sent us do show the sort of modifications we would often take the michael out of.
There’s a strap contraption on the back of a Virage Volante for bolting cases to the spoiler, paintings of a cherry tree on inset panels in a Cygnet, complete with cherry-coloured luggage and a colour matched Brompton bike.
Other stuff is almost quaint, like the very modern track-day camera mounted with a traditional leather strap and cherry tree perforations on the leather seats of the Cygnet.
Astonishingly – because we really think of Aston Martin as a (beautiful) one-trick pony – AML are keen to point out that they offer a total of fifteen models plus the Cygnet, One-77 and V12 Zagato. And now, with the Q personalisation programme, there’s a good chance no two cars will leave Gaydon with the same spec.
But we do wonder what the Broccili family, Fleming estate and Eon think of ‘Q’?
