The Range Rover and Range Rover Sport both seem like ‘new’ Range Rovers, but that’s not stopping Land Rover from updating both models for 2015.
The effect of that extra torque is an improvement of 6.5 per cent in in-gear acceleration from fifth to eighth gear and better towing ability. The ZF 8-speed auto ‘box has also been tweaked with a modified torque convertor and, despite the extra grunt, official economy and emissions remain at 32.5mpg and 229g/km.
Both the Range Rover and Sport get Land Rover’s InControl as standard which delivers an integrated SOS Emergency Call, Optimised Land Rover Assistance and a Smartphone APP that lets you connect with your Range Rover remotely and InControl Secure tracks the car in the case of theft.
There’s also the debut of InControl Apps and InControl WiFi which allow Smartphone syncing to the Apps on the car’s touchscreen and created a mobile hotspot in the car for up to eight devices.
More tweaks come with the addition of puddle lamps that project the car’s silhouette, fixed panoramic roofs with power blinds, 19″ Satin Dark Grey alloys as an option for those who want ability rather than flash, new colours including Aruba silver and Kaikoura Stone and the option of 22″ alloys on LWB models.
An Intelligent Cargo Mode now automatically moves the front seats if that’s required when the back seats are lowered, the Range Rover Autobiography Black will become available in the UK and available with a new Lunar/Cirrus interior colour scheme.
The 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are available to order from 16th July.
