Renault has revealed the Renaultsport Twingo 133 Cup, with reduced specification and the Cup suspension as standard.
It’s been a bit of a Renaultsport year this year, with Renault releasing a whole raft of their hot cars on to the market, most recently the Megane Renaultsport 250 which we reported on just a couple of weeks ago.But Renault has another Renaultsport model to reveal – the Renaultsport Twingo 133 Cup – which has turned up in our inbox this morning.
This is a cut-down version of the Twingo Renaultsport. Cut down on fripperies, mind you, not on performance. Gone are the AirCon and automatic lights and wipers. Also consigned to the ‘We drive a hot car – we don’t need extras’ bin is the sliding rear seat – to be replaced by a fixed bench – and the privacy glass – just so everyone can see you’re driving a hot Twingo.
In comes the Cup suspension as standard, so get a season ticket for the Osteopath before you take delivery. The Cup chassis rides 4mm lower than the standard Twingo 133 and gets stiffer springs. It sits on 17″ alloys with 40 profile tyres. As I said – it’s not the most forgiving suspension setup known to man.
But cutting down on the spec – even though the Cup suspension is standard – has seen the price of the Twingo 133 Cup come in at £700 less than the standard Twingo 133. Which means you can blat around and wreck your back for only £11,795.
The Twingo Renaulsport goes on sale in the UK on 1st October, with first deliveries in November.
