Skoda Superb Sportline Plus joins the revamped Superb range
A new Skoda Superb Sportline Plus model arrives to top the ‘Sporty’ bit of Skoda’s Superb range in the UK as the Superb range gets a bit of an overhaul to make room for the new model.
According to Skoda, there’s big demand for a big spec sporty Superb, so they’re answering that demand by plonking a new model – the Superb Sportline Plus – at the top of the ‘sporty’ Skoda range in the UK, and gently massaging the specs of the models below to make it work. The Sportline now has to make do without its 9.2″ Columbus Infotainment and instead comes with the lower spec 8″ Amundsen unit instead. That’s allowed Skoda to drop the price of the Sportline across the range of engine options and body styles by a bit under £500.
Unsurprisingly, the new Sportline Plus does get the all-singing Columbus Infotainment as well as heated seats, WiFi, Blind Sport Monitoring and an electric tailgate all for around £1500 more than the regular Sportline (or £1,000 more before Skoda cut the spec).
Skoda has also had a bit of a play with the rest of the Skoda range – well, apart from the entry-level Superb S – without playing three card tricks with the swith prices, with the SE and Sportline getting parking sensors and the SE L Executive also adding Keyless, Blind Spot and a colour trip computer. The pricey L&K models also get heated steering wheel, ventilated seats and rear view camera.
The new Skoda Superb range goes on sale today at Skoda’s UK dealers.
