Spyker has signed a deal with Chinese luxury car importers China Automobile Trading Company to sell Spykers quirky Supercars in China.
If you’ve been living hermit-like in a cave for the last few years you may be wondering why Spyker would even try to sell cars in the People’s Republic. On the other hand, if you’ve read anything about China recently you’ll know it is rapidly becoming the sales saviour of Western car makers with its seemingly insatiable desire for cars and growing lust for motoring exotica.
So the news that Spyker have signed a deal with the biggest importers of luxury cars in China – China Automobile Trading Company – to move the Dutch metal is good news. And it’s not just good news for Spyker, but good news for the UK ecomomy and jobs as well.
If the Chinese car buyers take to the quirky supercar joys of Spyker – and we have no doubt they will – then CPP Manufacturing will also be rubbing their hands together, as they produce every Spyker that now gets sold round the world. Which means more exports for the UK and more specialist jobs in the Midlands.
Which is never a bad thing.
