The Grand Tour – the ‘Old New Top Gear’ from Amazon – returns to our screens on 18 January for Series 3, previewed with this video trailer.
We had been expecting The Grand Tour to return to our screens for Series 3 before Christmas, but it looks like Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May have taken rather longer to finish playing than expected.
Series 1 and Series 2 of the Grand Tour arrived in November and December respectively, but Series 3 won’t hit our screens until 18 January 2019, but Amazon are ‘priming’ its arrival with a video trailer (below) with a taste of what to expect.
Clearly nothing much will change, with much dicking around (including driving round a giant ‘Dick’ track on ice), American Muscle cars, supercars, classic cars and SUVs all in evidence, as are explosions (including a helicopter meeting its end) and daftness.
There’s road trip stuff too with jungles and rickety bridges and old pick-ups, the Lamborghini Urus is in the mix as is the McLaren Senna, and it’s a promise of another series of madness and mayhem with, just as Top Gear always was, a Curate’s egg feel.
But the production values look stunning, the scenery is brilliant, the cars are a great support act and Clarkson, Hammond and May still seem to relish the game.
If you’re paying Amazon’s shilling you can grab the first episode of Series 3 on 18 January 2019.
