
Toyota Land Cruiser Utility Commercial – the ‘Working’ Land Cruiser
The Toyota Land Cruiser Utility Commercial arrives in the UK as a commercial workhorse complete with a proper payload area and blanked-out back windows.
If you want a proper, traditional. rugged, go anywhere SUV, you’d choose the Toyota Land Cruiser. It may not be the most sophisticated, driver friendly – or even road friendly – SUV by a long chalk, but if you covet an SUV that will do anything you ask of it – and forever more – the Land Cruiser is the choice.Now Toyota is harnessing that unbreakable do anything USP of the Land Cruiser to add a third commercial vehicle to its UK offerings – joining the Hilux Pick-up and Proace van – with the Land Cruiser Utility Commercial.
Available in short and long wheelbase versions – and with three or five doors – the commercial Land Cruiser comes without back seats to create a load are of 1574 litres in the SWB and 2216 litre in the LWB version, complete with and edge-to-edge non-slip floor and a full height metal bulkhead between the front seats and cargo area complete with hatch.
The cargo area can be accessed either through the side-opening rear hatch or, if you opt for the five-seat version, through the side doors. The glass areas in the back are blanked out with panels to match the Land Cruiser’s bodywork.
The back of the Land Cruiser Commercial may major on the practical, but the front cabin does get cloth seats, Air Con, Cruise, Sound with CD, Bluetooth, Auto lights and smart entry.
Under the bonnet is Toyota’s 175bhp 2.8 litre D-4D engine putting power to all four wheels and delivering enough grunt to tow a braked three tonne load on a trailer.
Now on sale in the UK, the Toyota Land Cruiser Utility Commercial costs from £27,546 for the SWB and £28,509 for the LWB.
