The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid – Volvo’s BIK busting plug-in estate – can now had with an upgrade from Polestar which increases power and torque.

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid gets Polestar upgrade
The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is proving a big sales success for Volvo – and no wonder.
Not only that, but you can now have the V60 Plug-in with Volvo’s R-Design spec offering the usual Volvo ‘go faster’ updates which make the V60 look more purposeful without looking silly.
But the only problem is that the R-Design spec doesn’t actually come with any more power, a problem that’s now been solved with a Polestar upgrade.
Sadly, the Polestar upgrade doesn’t offer the sort of performance the Volvo V60 Polestar offers, but it does up the power and torque without affecting the economy or emissions.
The Polestar upgrade increase power available for the V60 Plug-in by 15bhp and torque by 22lb/ft, which doesn’t sound a lot but should make the V60 feel a bit livelier.
Hans Baath, Polestar’s Marketing Director, said:
The Polestar optimisation for the V60 D6 combines a strong fuel economy with performance. We are happy to be able to offer the Volvo customers with more driving pleasure in combination with the latest hybrid technology, a very interesting area for the future.
The optimisation makes the car more fun to drive, at the same time as it increases the safety in situations where you need extra performance, for example during an overtaking maneuver.
The Polkesta upgrade for the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is available in the UK, although we don’t yet have a price.
