Volvo XC90, XC60, S60 & V60 2017 model year updates revealed

Volvo has announced a raft of updates across its range for the 2017 model year, with the XC90, XC60, S60 and V60 all being updated.

Volvo has been all about delivering its new range of 90 Series cars in the last year or two – from the new XC90 and S90, to the latest Volvo V90 – and now it’s busy updating the rest of its range – even the XC90 – for the 2017 model year.

We’ve already seen the 2016 facelift for the Volvo V40, and although the rest of Volvo’s range isn’t exactly getting a facelift, there are a raft of updates to improve what’s on offer.

Updates to the XC90 include the arrival of Pilot Assist II (semi-autonomous driving aid) as a standard fitting, PowerPuls for the D5 engine which uses compressed air to spool up the turbo for quicker take-off, Run-off Road Mitigation and Large Animal Detection.

Sensus on the XC90 (and the new S90 and V90 too) gets updated, with new Apps including Spotify and Park and Pay (although not in the UK straight away), Connected Service Booking (so you can book your car in for service from Sensus), Record and Send as well as improved internet maps, Local Search and yelp.

The current 60 Series cars (XC60, S60 and V60) also come in for 2017 model year updates, with the new Drive-E T5 petrol engine with 245bhp and an eight-speed automatic gearbox on offer.

New alloys arrive too, with !8″ for the S60/V60 and XC60, and new 18″, 19″ and 20″ option for the R-Design models, and new colour options include Luminous Sand and Mussel Blue, with R-Design models also getting Bursting Blue (Blue is Volvo’s current fad).

Volvo On Call updates across the range

The Volvo On Call smartphone App gets updated right across the Volvo range for 2017MY cars, with Microsoft Band 2 compatibility, Calendar integration and Flic button. Just as already revealed on the 2016 V40 and Cross Country. Oh, and there are ‘CleanZone’ logos so you know the cabin air is being filtered for nasties.
