The Vuhl 05 – which has been teased recently – was unveiled this afternoon in London as Mexico’s answer to the Ariel Atom.
That means that even though the Vuhl 05 has only 285bhp available from its mid-mounted 2.0 litre turbo Ford EcoBoost engine, it can still get to 62mph in 3.7 seconds thanks to a power to weight ratio of 400bhp per tonne.
There are no doors or roof on the Vul o5, and styling has been led by Iker Echeverría (one of the two brothers Echeverría behind Vuhl) and Esiete, who have plenty of experience with working with designers like Pininfarina, so the details on the Vuhl look impressive.
Vuhl (it stands for Vehicle of Ultra High performance and Lightweight) say production of the 05 will start in November, orders are being taken straight away and the first customer cars – which will cost from £55,000 +tax – will arrive in spring 2014.
If you want to see the Vuhl o5 before you decide to write a cheque, it will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month.
