Nissan Juke-R - finally finished

The 480 bhp Nissan Juke-R – a cross between the Juke and the GT-R – is finally finished and we have photos and video.

Nissan certainly milked the creation of the Nissan Juke-R for all it was worth.

There were endless teases and photos – and even a video or three – some of which we covered, and some of which we didn’t, as it all got a wee bit tedious.

But Nissan has finished their test-tube creation of a sub-compact SUV with the heart and soul of Godzilla, and has sent us a nice little video and a set of photos of the Juke-R looking menacing and purposeful in black.

As far as Nissan are concerned the Juke-R is just an exercise to see what’s possible, but they have built a pair of Juke-Rs and it seems highly likely they’ll bite the bullet and do a Limited Edition production run of the Juke-R.

And it will be some mean street machine. With 480bhp to play with from the heart of the GT-R’s V6 and four wheel drive too, the Juke is going to return some significant performance figures. We’d be surprised if the 0-60mph doesn’t get in the 3 second range. But for now Nissan aren’t saying.

The exterior is not exactly a subtle hint at what lies beneath, with a matt black paint job covering a raft of aerodynamic protuberances - inspired by the Nissan GT-R – including a front bumper with air vents big enough to swallow a small deer, prominent side skirts and a big back bumper with diffuser and wing above, all set off by 20″ Rays.

Nissan are going testing later this month with the Juke-R and we should then get some proper performance figures. Until then, you’ll have to make do with the Juke-R photo gallery and video.
