The Ferrari 599 GTO snapped at a private launch event
With the reveal of the Ferrari 599 GTO scheduled for 7th April, we now have an undisguised photo of the GTO and a price list.
The rumour-mill has been running wild on the first GTO to come out of Ferrari in quite some time. We first heard news of a ‘Limited Edition’ Ferrari 599 in late October when we spoke to a guy who’d been invited to put a deposit on a ‘Special 599’. At that point we had no clue it would get the GTO badge. That was uncovered by Autogespot in mid November, and since then we’ve had a picture coming together of what’s on offer. Now we have the first proper photo and a price list.
The picture comes from Cardadisiac who grabbed it from a special event in Italy to show off the car. It looks pretty much as expected, with a strong case for being considered a road-going 599XX. We know from our earlier report that the 599 GTO will be revealed in April and that it will sport a V12 with 670bhp, a 0-200kph time of under 10 seconds, has shed a serious amount of weight and gets an exhaust very similar to its track-only sibling the 599XX.

We now also know – thanks one again to Autogespot – that the 599 GTO will start at €267,136 plus VAT, which if Ferrari use the same price structure throughout Europe would be around £240,000 plus vat or £306,000. As you would expect with Ferrari the real price is in the options, with a few choice picks such as a luggage set for €5,000+vat, a set of stripes – historic or otherwise – at €6,000+vat and a choice of historic colours for an extra €7,050+vat. And there’s plenty more ways to spend your money.
It looks like the leak on the 599 GTO is as complete as it could be. It’s hard to think of anything we don’t yet know, which won’t have thrilled Ferrari.
