UK gets the last Reventon – actually, it doesn’t!

The Press in the UK has been full of stories of the last Reventon – #20 of 20 – being delivered to the UK this week. Well, we hate to step out of line, but our sources tell us they’re wrong!

Car #20 was in fact delivered to Houston Lamborghini a short while ago. We already knew the stories were wrong when we saw them as John, one of our co-owners, knows the General Manager there, and he knew that car #20 was destined for a private collector in the States. It was delivered to him about 10 days ago.

Take a look at the picture at the top. This is car #20 being unloaded in Houston after its arrival from Lamborghini. And inset in the picture is the number plaque (click the picture for a larger view, but do have a look at the guy unloading – I don’t know what he’d just done, but this looks like a real ‘Doh!’ moment to me!).

Now we have to admit that it is perfectly possible that the UK Reventon was the last car to actually be delivered. But as far as we can tell it’s actually car #18 that came here.  But the press release that was put out this week when the UK Reventon arrived, actually referred to car #20 of 20:

Lamborghini delivered the last of its 20, one million euro plus taxes, Reventón cars this week, to a British customer of the official Midlands dealer, Lamborghini Birmingham.

“Our client was understandably delighted,” said Lamborghini Birmingham sales manager Dominic Mulvey, who accompanied his client to Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata-based factory near Bologna. “Lamborghini’s President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, personally presented the Reventón to its new owner who then drove off in his new car.”

The UK-bound V12 Reventón, number 20 of 20 with a minimum 650 hp and a top speed in excess of 211 mph , is the last of the Reventón cars, all of which were sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007. It is the only Reventón being delivered to the UK. The buyer, who wishes to remain nameless, is committed to driving his car rather than simply garaging it however, so the last Reventón may well be seen throughout the country at Lamborghini, motorsport and social events.

Oh well. We thought we had the last Reventon – #20 of 20. It actually looks like the Italians just left us until last!
