The Mercedes CLA and CLA Shooting Brake have received a slight facelift for 2016, and the AMG 45 gets more power. Debuts at New York Motor Show.
It’s three years since the Mercedes CLA arrived as a swoopy coupe take on the Mercedes A Class, and just eighteen months since the CLA Estate – the CLA Shooting Brake – was added to the range, and Mercedes has decided it’s time to titivate the CLA with a mild facelift for 2016.It’s the usual facelift fodder for the CLA, with changes to bumpers, grilles, alloys, updated trim and a slimmer 8* infotainment screen, as well as new options like LED High Performance headlights.
There are a few technology tweaks too, with the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There are also a couple of additions to the CLA range, with the CLA 220 4MATIC and the CLA 180 Shooting Brake, which comes with a 120bhp four cylinder petrol, and economy and emissions on the CLA 180d BlueEfficiency has been improved to 80.7mph and 89g/km.
At the other end of the CLA range, the CLA 45 4MATIC also gets the uprated 2.0 litre turbo engine from the A 45 AMG (as we reported last year) with 376bhp, enough to get the CLA to 62mph in 4.2 seconds (4.3s for the Shooting Brake).
The Mercedes CLA and Shooting Brake will debut at the New York Motor Show, and go on sale at Mercedes’ UK dealers in April 2016.
