2018 Aston Martin Vantage teased
The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage – expected to take its design cues from the James Bond Spectre DB10 – is teased ahead of a likely debut at the LA Motor Show.
Aston Martin hasn’t actually revealed when the new Vantage will make its debut, but the arrival of a tease for the 2018 Vantage (above) does make us think later this month at the Los Angeles Motor Show seems the most likely.Sitting under a sheet – next to what looks like the track version of the new Vantage – we can see a shape, and headlights, which suggest the new Vantage won’t be a million miles away from James Bond’s DB10 in Spectre. Which is no bad thing.
Sitting on the same, but shortened, platform as the new DB11, the Vantage may be AML’s entry-level car, but it seems all but certain it will come with the same AMG 4.0 litre V8 as the DB11 V8, which should mean something around 500bhp to play with in a more focussed, more dynamic and lighter Vantage. Which sounds promising.
Even if AML de-tune the DB11’s V8 a bit for the new Vantage, you can also expect a Vantage V12 in time with the same 5.2 litre V12 turbo launched in the DB11, and that’s going to be good for 600bhp – and maybe more.
If the 2018 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is going to bow in at the Los Angels Motor Show at the end of the month, expect more teases – and probably a reveal – ahead of that.
